A new BreastScreen Victoria clinic has opened its doors in Werribee, offering BreastScreen Victoria clients more appointments for their regular breast screen.
The new clinic is located at St Vincent’s Private Hospital just off Princes Highway at 240 Hoppers Lane and will help meet the demand for breast screening in Melbourne’s west.
Hoppers Lane BreastScreen is a second clinic for the Werribee community and BreastScreen Victoria’s 45th clinic in the state. It will make more breast screens available in this high population growth area where a portion of the community has not returned for their regular check since the start of COVID-19.
BreastScreen Victoria consulted with members of our Consumer Network when setting up the new clinic to hear their valuable feedback and insights from a client’s perspective.
Consumer Network Member Wendy Davis said, “I live in the west, and I am really appreciative that BreastScreen has opened another service here.”
We asked Wendy to visit potential locations for the new clinic.
“We had a look at two sites. Where Hoppers Lane BreastScreen has opened was our preferred option from a consumer’s perspective, it has good parking, ease of access, and it’s a brand-new building, so it’s a beautiful facility.”
BreastScreen CEO Terri Smith said, “It’s vital for us to have consumer involvement in picking new clinics. Our Consumer Network members help us by providing fresh eyes about what matters to our clients. We appreciate the time and effort they put into their role, providing valued input.
“I want to thank everyone who has been working on opening the new clinic, from access, systems, set-up and bringing staff on board. It’s a huge effort," Terri added.
BreastScreen Victoria has partnered with I-MED Radiology for the new clinic. Regional Manager at IMED, Neville Tivendale, said, “We’re really pleased to partner with BreastScreen Victoria. It is a great program and aligns with what we want to do in the community. This clinic is an important part of our commitment to providing imaging in Victoria.”
The new clinic is conveniently located with 30-minutes of free parking and full accessibility. It is a short walk to Hoppers Lane train station. Like all our clinics, the new site has state-of-the-art facilities and a caring and highly-qualified staff, offering the latest digital imaging technology.
