Improving breast screening for people with disabilities

Today is International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), a day to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with a disability, and to celebrate their achievements and contributions.

BreastScreen Victoria is committed to reducing the barriers to screening for people with disabilities including the development of more resources for people with disabilities and health practitioners.

As well as developing resources, we include people with disabilities in our representation of clients, such as Carmen, shown above and featured in our video. We are also proud to have Annie as one of our BreastScreen Victoria Ambassadors.
