We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected as a double finalist in the 2024 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards!
Being a finalist in this prestigious healthcare award places us among the best in Victoria, setting us apart as an example of excellence and dedication.
This incredible milestone also reflects our unwavering commitment to providing equitable, accessible, and culturally safe breast screening services for all Victorian women. We have been selected in two categories:
- Excellence in Culturally Safe Health Services for the Beautiful Shawl Project, a collaborative initiative providing culturally safe breast screening experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. Since 2018, the project has supported over 1,100 screenings, ensuring Aboriginal women feel empowered and comfortable during their appointments.

- Improving Healthcare Access for our Multicultural Project, which since 2021 has screened over 3,500 women from diverse backgrounds through in-language communication and support, enabling access to breast screening services for those who may have otherwise missed this crucial health check.
These nominations celebrate the hard work, passion, and dedication of our teams and the strong partnerships we've built with Aboriginal and multicultural communities.
We are incredibly proud to be recognised for these important initiatives that break down barriers and ensure equitable health outcomes for all women. St. Vincent's BreastScreen also deserves recognition for their significant contribution as the screening site for the pilot in 2018.
