BreastScreen Victoria named Inclusive Employer for 2024/25 by Diversity Council Australia

BreastScreen Victoria’s Coordination Unit recognised

We’re thrilled to announce that the Coordination Unit (BCU) has been named an Inclusive Employer for 2024/25 by the Diversity Council Australia (DCA). This recognition places us alongside notable past recipients such as Anglicare, Amnesty International, and the Department of Health and Aged Care, reflecting our deep commitment to fostering a workplace where all employees feel valued, supported, and empowered.

The Inclusive Employer Index is an annual survey by the DCA to assess the experiences of employees in Australian workplaces. Through the Index, organisations can measure diversity and inclusion within their workforce and receive valuable insights for comparison with national and DCA member benchmarks.

Achieving this recognition signifies that we not only meet but exceeded the National Index benchmark across critical areas including awareness, engagement, fostering an inclusive organisational climate, promoting inclusive leadership, supporting inclusive teams, and reducing exclusion.

Rita Butera, BreastScreen Victoria CEO says “This recognition is a milestone and testament to the hard work and collaboration across all our teams. Our journey doesn’t end here; we’re inspired to continue building an environment where inclusion isn’t just a policy but a lived experience for every staff member. “

To celebrate this accomplishment, BCU staff will be encouraged to display the official email banner symbolising our Inclusive Employer status. Thank you to all BCU employees for contributing to our inclusive culture and let’s keep making strides toward a more inclusive organisation.
