Breast screening for people from multicultural communities
Victoria is home to one of the most culturally diverse societies in the world. To ensure people from all cultural backgrounds can participate in our program, we offer additional services to make our program accessible and culturally appropriate.
Removing barriers to breast screening
To access our free breast screening service, you do not need:
- To be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- A Medicare card
- A doctor’s referral
All women and trans and gender diverse people aged 50 to 74, with no breast symptoms, can have a free breast screen with us every 2 years.
