The BreastScreen Victoria program is made up of the coordination unit, screening clinics and reading and assessment services.  

The role of the coordination unit is to:  

  • Administer funding for the screening and assessment services 
  • Manage client invitations and appointments  
  • Coordinate the Mobile Screening Service 
  • Manage client screening and assessment data 
  • Develop and reviews program policy 
  • Monitor service provision 
  • Coordinate special projects 
  • Support state-wide recruitment of eligible Victorians into our screening program through communications and client engagement  

Our screening and reading and assessment services include:  

  • Over 50 permanent screening clinics and 8 reading and assessment sites across Victoria 
  • Our 2 mobile screening vans travel across rural and regional Victoria. The 8 reading and assessment services (RAS) across Victoria to provide all clinical services – from the initial breast screen to any further tests needed up to the point of diagnosis.
