Have your say - join one of our Advisory Groups
At BreastScreen Victoria, we believe the best decisions are made when the people who use our services are part of the conversation. Our advisory groups bring together individuals with lived experience, community leaders, and passionate voices to drive meaningful change in our breast cancer screening program and client care.
Whether you want to improve access, represent your community, or share your insights as a client, we want to hear from you.
Our Advisory Groups
We are currently recruiting new members for our
- Consumer Advisory Group | recruitment closes on 7 May
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group | now recruiting
- Disability Advisory Group | now recruiting
Our Consumer Advisory and Aboriginal Advisory groups are made up of diverse individuals who bring a wide range of knowledge, experience, and perspectives. They help us shape a client breast screening experience that is accessible, inclusive, culturally safe and supportive for everyone.
We are also excited to introduce a new Disability Advisory Group following the launch of our Disability Action Plan in 2024.
Why join an Advisory Group?
As a member of one of our Advisory Groups, you will play an important role by sharing your direct lived experience as a client of our service. Your insights will help us understand opportunities to improve our service and how we might support Victorians who may have barriers to participating, like location, culture, social issues, gender, or age. By listening to your experiences, we ensure our service meets the needs of those we serve.
As a client-focused organisation, our Advisory Groups ensure BreastScreen Victoria remains a trusted and inclusive service.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking people who have direct lived experience of screening with our service, from across Victoria. Our Advisory Groups meet up to 4 times a year, either in person or online, for around 2 hours per meeting. Members of our Advisory Groups will be reimbursed for their time.
We are looking for a diverse group of women and people from trans and gender community with strong listening skills and the ability to respectfully engage in discussions with both the group and the BreastScreen Victoria team.
